More About Women’s Forum

group formation

We take great care in launching each wForum, with “fit” being an important and mutual consideration. So first, you complete the registration form and then we set up a call or meeting to get to know you a bit. We answer each other’s questions, and give you space for careful consideration about the commitment, timing and reason for joining or starting a wForum group.

wForum is one of many ways to pursue personal growth. It’s not for anyone or everyone – fit matters, and it’s a mutual consideration. Membership works best for women who can invest in the give-and-take process of developing something special and valuable together.

commitment

Meetings are held on a monthly basis for approximately 3 hours in each other’s homes. Members usually rotate hosting. We prefer to meet in living rooms but private conference rooms work too.

Each wForum sets their own schedule. Ideally your wForum establishes an easy-to-remember meeting time, such as 3rd Monday of the month.

We ask that you prioritize your participation in wForum. Sure, you may miss a meeting or two throughout the year. When everyone shows up, conversations get real, trust builds and bonds form. It’s best for you that meetings feel like a bonus, not a hardship.

peer facilitation

Peer-facilitation gives each member a voice and stake in the group’s success. Everyone has something of value to offer in the meeting exchange. Even when you have nothing to say, your presence and listening is part of creating a sacred space.

There is certainly an art and science to managing group dynamics, balancing diverse needs, and keeping the energy flowing in a positive direction. Without structure, groups can derail. Which is why facilitators need a network of support and credible sources of information and inspiration.

The Facilitator role rotates annually. Participating in the Facilitator Network will help you flourish in the role. You can expect annual gatherings, bi-monthly check-in calls and a shared connection with other facilitators where you can gain insight, resources and build your confidence and competence.
